Bridget Slevin Garners Humanitarian of the Year AwardBridget Slevin, a broker associate with the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage West office in Lakewood, is the recipient of the company’s Humanitarian of the Year Award for her charitable endeavors in 2006. Slevin was honored at Coldwell Bankers annual awards gala held recently at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver. Slevin plays her guitar and sings for the patients at The Children’s Hospital almost every week, is active with Habitat for Humanity, and spearheads her office’s annual Coats for Colorado drive to benefit the homeless in the metro Denver area, among other charitable endeavors. ‘I am honored to be recognized as Humanitarian of the Year” said Slevin, “I am grateful that my parents are excellent examples of how important it is to try to make a difference in people’s lives, and how wonderful it is to give to your community”. Slevin added that playing her guitar for the young patients at the Children’s Hospital is particularly rewarding. “I recently played for a downs syndrome child who had been deaf from birth the day after he had surgery to restore his hearing. It was the first music he ever heard”. Slevin also contributes time to the annual Miracle on 19th Street fundraiser for the homeless, and is an annual participation with Race for the Cure. She enjoys snowboarding. biking, hiking, golf, and occasionally can be seen playing a fairly mean bohdran at Irish music sessions. |
